can you have sex before cervical cancer surgery?

September 27th, 2009

My girlfriend is having a procedure done for cervical cancer and wants to have sex before she goes in, is this ok?

Well it depends..If she’s going to have a SCREENING TEST for cancer cervix, what we we call a pap smear, then you can’t have sex, actually she’s not allowed to wash her vagina a day before that also…However, if she is cancer cervix and is going for surgery, whether conization or hysterectomy, I don’t see any harm in that.. She has to be disinfected before surgery any way..

Best of luck

Ive never had that kind of surgery, but I do know that the gynocologist asks you to not have intercourse for like 24 hours before an exam.

I would ask the doctor. If you cant because its tomarrow, I would err on the safe side and avoid intercourse or penetration.
