I had my surgery when I was 20. I say if the doctors say you need it, definitely get it. I fought for 2 years for them to say I needed the surgery.

I had a microdiscectomy for one of my herniated disks, no bone shaving or anything. When I woke up from it, within an hour they had me walking, the next day, they had my try stairs and I went on home. Now that I’m pregnant though, oh boy is the back pain back

My disc between l4 and l5 was extruded and pinched off. My body aborbed the extruded pinch of disc but I am still swollen on my left lumbar side and I am still having pain. I see a doctor on August 27th. Hopefully I can get it fix and be able to workout once again!

no tubes, maybe an oxygen mask while i was out…. catheters are for surgeries that have complications and last longer than a few hours. my surgery itself was 3 hours long, and i feel great now. no more pain, no more stiffness, completely fixed the problem.

i had this disc removal done…. they called it a microdiscectomy and they plucked out the broken bits of the disc and sealed it back up with superglue (believe it or not). i was up and walking pain free within an hour after waking up in recovery….
    .
my operation allowed the surgeon to get down with tools between the bones and pull out the disc….. no bone shaving involved, although i was asleep for it….
