what causes lower back and leg pain and then buttock and legs go numb?

when lifting it is worse and happens faster,the pain and numbness gets so bad i can't hardley lift my legs to walk,but when i set down,with then a minute or so the pain starts easing off and the filling starts to come back into my butt and legs.

Could be a disc problem, or a entrapped nerve somewhere. However depending on age it could be PAD Peripheral Arterial Disease. Good Luck
